Photography Contest
During the annual Festival of the Mountain Masters Friday November 27 and Saturday, November. 28
The photography contest has been a part of the Mountain Masters for the past twelve years. Since the first show we have grown from 150 photos to between 400 and 500 this past year! We have participants who have been with us since the beginning and have had the joy of seeing them develop into top rate photographers. We are always happy to see those familiar faces, who through the years have become family as well as new ones who join us for the first time. We have had a variety of judges and our goal has been to seek out those who are well-qualified. Our judging reflects their expertise.
First, Second and Third Place ribbons will be awarded in all categories in two divisions, Amateur and Accomplished. An honorable mention ribbon will also be awarded in each amateur division category. Also, an overall Best of Show plaque will be awarded in recognition of both Amateur and Accomplished work. At the end of the show, one Best of Show plaque will be awarded for the first place winning photos in each category. from the first place winning photos.
Due to the volume of photos we are receiving, two new categories have been added this year: Children and Mountain Scenery. The categories for this year's photography contest are as follows:
Black and White
People
Harlan County
Animals
Scenery
Nature
Flowers
Children
Mountain Scenery
Submissions for the contest will be accepted until 10am on Friday at Village Center, and judging will be held on Friday afternoon.
We do request that participants allow for their photographs to hang for the remainder of the show, and collect their work on Saturday afternoon between 2 and 3pm, if possible.
We welcome all to join us at this years show and share your talent with us at the Mountain Masters! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me, Sharon Hall-Trapp, at (606) 573-7487 or Stacey at (606) 573-2900.
